Terms
Last updated 8 September 2026.
Stowdesk is software for recording what you bought, where it is, and what it earned. These are the terms it is offered on.
The service
Stowdesk is a TropicDevWorx product, provided by Tropic Endeavors, LLC of Vero Beach, Florida. An account is for one business, and whoever opens it must be 18 or over and able to enter a contract. You are responsible for what happens under your sign-in, which is why two-factor sign-in is offered and worth turning on.
What Stowdesk is not
Stowdesk is a record-keeping tool, provided for informational purposes. It is not accounting software, it is not tax preparation software, and it is not a substitute for an accountant, a bookkeeper or a tax professional.
It does not file anything with anyone. It does not calculate any tax. It does not check what you record against the rules of any tax authority, in any country, and it does not know what those rules are. Every figure it shows — cost, margin, profit, inventory value, cost of goods sold — is arithmetic performed on what you entered, and is worth exactly what your entries are worth.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you record and for checking any figure before you rely on it, and you should have a qualified professional review your books. Nothing in Stowdesk, and nothing we say about it, is tax, accounting, legal or financial advice.
Your data
Everything you put in remains yours. We claim no ownership of your inventory, your figures or your photographs, and we do not use them for anything except running the service for you. A full export is always available, including on the free plan and after a subscription ends.
Backups
A regular backup is strongly recommended, and taking it is your responsibility. The Backup page exports your whole ledger as a JSON file. It is the complete data rather than a summary, it costs nothing, and it is never withheld — not on the free plan, not when you are over your item limit, and not after you cancel.
Take one weekly at a minimum, and after any large intake. Keep the file somewhere that is not this service. No online service, this one included, should be the only place your records exist. Stowdesk can remind you — the interval is yours to set, under Settings, on the “Privacy & notifications” tab.
Plans and payment
- Plans are charged monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe.
- A plan sets how many items you may hold. Going over it stops new items being added; it never restricts reading, editing, printing or exporting what is already there.
- The Warehouse plan has no item limit, subject to the fair use terms below.
- Cancel whenever you like. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and you keep the plan until then.
- Prices can change. Anyone already subscribed will be told by email before it affects them.
- If something is charged in error, say so and it will be refunded.
Fair use
“Unlimited” on the Warehouse plan means there is no item limit applied to your account. It does not mean one account may be used by more than one business. Fair use is one business, one account:
- One account represents one business. Separate businesses need separate accounts.
- Do not resell, sublicense or share account access with people outside your business.
- Do not send automated traffic that degrades the service for other customers. The scheduled backup, the documented imports and ordinary use of the pages are not automated traffic.
If your use falls outside this, we will contact you at the address on your account and give you at least 30 days to change it or move to an arrangement that fits. We will not throttle an account without telling you first, and no records are deleted over fair use — your export stays available throughout.
Acceptable use
Do not use Stowdesk to break the law, to store somebody else's data without the right to, or to attack the service or the people using it. Accounts doing those things will be closed.
Availability and warranties
Stowdesk depends on providers — hosting, the database, email, eBay — that can fail independently of us.
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be available, uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that data will not be lost or corrupted.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tropic Endeavors, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, including loss of data, loss of records, lost profits, loss of goodwill or business interruption, arising out of or relating to your use of Stowdesk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid for Stowdesk in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) $100.
Nothing here excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Tropic Endeavors, LLC and its owners, officers, employees, contractors and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the service, the data you put into it, or your violation of these terms.
Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Unresolved disputes are to be resolved by final and binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its applicable rules. You may opt out within 30 days of first accepting these terms, by writing to the address below or through the contact form, beginning your message “ARBITRATION OPT OUT”. Opting out changes nothing else about these terms.
You and Tropic Endeavors, LLC agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as part of any class, collective or representative action.
Except where arbitration applies, disputes are to be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in or serving Indian River County, Florida, and you consent to jurisdiction and venue there.
Termination
You can close your account at any time. We may close an account for the reasons under acceptable use, or with notice if the service is discontinued — in which case you will be given time to export everything first.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change. Material changes will be sent to account holders by email before they take effect.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, it is to be limited or severed to the least extent necessary and everything else stays in force. Not enforcing a provision on one occasion does not waive it.
Contact
Get in touch with anything about these terms. Formal notice, including an arbitration opt-out, goes to Tropic Endeavors, LLC, PO Box 651131, Vero Beach, FL 32965.
