TCGTracking and Stowdesk

TCGTracking prints a USPS barcode for a plain envelope, so a single going out with a stamp still gets tracking and insurance. Stowdesk buys those barcodes from the packing page, prints the labels, and tells eBay the tracking numbers.

Which parcels go by envelope

The packing page proposes a route for every order. TCGTracking for an order to the US or Canada with goods under $50, which is as far as its insurance goes. eBay's own label for anything worth more, for anywhere else, and for an order the buyer paid eBay Standard Envelope for. You can change any row before anything is bought.

What one press does

An order can't be bought twice. Stowdesk sends its own order number with each barcode, and TCGTracking returns the one it already made instead of charging again. A label can be printed again later from the packing page's Posted tab.

The tracking number eBay gets

TCGTracking hands back each barcode with nine digits hidden. Those nine are your USPS Mailer ID, the same on every label. Enter it once in Settings and Stowdesk rebuilds the full number before telling eBay. Until then nothing goes to eBay, because a buyer can't follow a partial number.

What you need

  1. Your own TCGTracking account. TCGTracking asks for a payment method before it issues an API key, and labels and insurance are charged there.
  2. Its API key and shipper number, saved in Stowdesk's Settings.
  3. Your Mailer ID, read off a full barcode on one of your TCGTracking orders.
  4. eBay connected, so the tracking can be uploaded.

What TCGTracking is sent

For each envelope: the buyer's name and shipping address, the order number and the value of the goods. Nothing else from your ledger. Your key is encrypted at rest and can be removed in Settings at any time. The privacy page lists everyone Stowdesk shares anything with.
